MS16 organised Fast Classic time format chess tournament

At the end of March, MS16 hosted a business chess tournament, bringing together 20 representatives of Latvia’s business community. The event served as a platform where competitive chess, strategic thinking, and professional networking were combined within a refined and intellectually engaging format.

The tournament was held according to the Fast Classic / New Classic 45+30s format, which combines the depth of classical chess with a more dynamic pace of play. Oleg Skvortsov, the author of this format, participated in organising the event and ensured that the tournament was conducted in accordance with its original concept, further emphasizing the professional standard of the event.

Chess reflects many qualities that are essential in business: the ability to calculate several moves ahead, assess risks, maintain focus, and make well-considered decisions under time constraints. For this reason, the format proved particularly relevant for participants whose professional activities are closely connected with strategic thinking, responsibility, and long-term decision-making.
